Two whiz kids from Mashonaland West have charmed educationists from the province who have since honoured the learners alongside other students who performed exceptionally well in the 2018 national examinations.
2018 belonged to Mashonaland West in terms of academic achievements after the province produced a student with the highest points at Advanced Level.
Sanyati Baptist High School product McDonald Kanenga scored 30 points, mainly in science subjects.
Honourable Polite Kambamura legislator for Sanyati was full of delight and committed himself to secure scholarships for McDonald and four others who obtained 15 points from Sanyati Baptist High School.
A school from the province, Knowe Primary from Norton also produced 34 learners with 5 units, which was the highest nationally.
Elswhere at Chinhoyi High School, a 16 year old form three student, Sifiso Ukaka got 10 A grades at Ordinary Level.
Sifiso has since skipped lower sixth form and is now in upper six.
Principal Director in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Mr Peter Muzavazi stressed the significance of laying out a good foundation for learners by strengthening the early childhood development aspect.
Acting Director in the office of the Minister of State for Mashonaland West Mr Douglas Chiwiro emphasized the relationship between good results and prudent financial management and community involvement in the running of schools.
The Mashonaland West grade 7 and A Level merit awards ceremony was organised by the provincial education directorate, led by Mr Gabriel Mhumha.
Several stakeholders in the education sector attended the awards ceremony.
