The Zanu PF Mashonaland West Province is warming up to the impending Presidential Youth Interface rally and is making the necessary preparations for the big event, which is expected to attract 100 000 people.

In his feedback report to the provincial coordinating committee on progress made so far towards preparing for the interface rally, Lands and Resettlement Minister, Dr Douglas Mombeshora said the event will be held at the Chinhoyi University of Technology sports grounds adding that a committee tasked to mobilise resources is already on ground.

He said transport logistics are being arranged with 30 000 litres of fuel having already been secured while the National Railways of Zimbabwe will provide a train to ferry some of the youths who will attend the rally.

Meanwhile, the Zanu PF Secretary for Administration, Dr Ignatius Chombo said the date for the rally will be announced in due course.

He took the occasion to call on those who were once on suspension from carrying out party business, and are yet to know their fate to write to him so that their cases can be dealt with.

He reminded party members to prepare themselves for next year’s elections but warned that interested candidates should not start campaigning now as the criteria for qualification is not yet set.

Presidential Youth Interface rallies have been held in Mashonaland East, Manicaland and Masvingo provinces.
