The 71st edition of the Mashonaland West Agricultural Show kicks off this Thursday in the provincial capital, Chinhoyi.

The re-branded agricultural showcase is expected to run between Thursday and Sunday, and is to be officially opened on Saturday.

The expo previously ran under the name ‘The Chinhoyi Agricultural Show’, but has been rebranded to Mashonaland West Agricultural Show Society to reflect its provincial stature.

Mashonaland West Agricultural Show Society General Manager Brian Vengayi said new and more corporate exhibitors have come on board, adding on to the list of those who participated last year.

He said this Wednesday (today) several exhibitors were putting up final touches to their preparations.

Various activities including displays by a DRC-based team of bikers are lined up for the showcase.

The show is running under the theme: ‘Trade Surplus through Agriculture’.
