Mashonaland East province will be hosting its first ever Smart Agriculture Conference to explore ways of deriving strategic benefits from modern day farming. 

In an effort to ensure that modern farming unlocks value in smart agriculture using latest technologies, the province has partnered the Chartered Institute of Project Managers Zimbabwe to host the Smart Agriculture Conference at Kushinga Phikelela Polytechnic on the 15th of February.

Mashonaland East Minister of State, Cde Apollonia Munzverengwi said the province is elated to be hosting such a conference at a time farmers are starting to embrace smart agriculture to boost productivity.

“We are happy as a province to be hosting such a conference. We are inviting all people from our province to come and be part of this revolution,” she said.

The conference is expected to be attended by local and international delegates who include active farmers, policy makers, farmer representative bodies, manufacturers in the agricultural sector, suppliers of agricultural equipment and components, agro-chemical industry and research agencies, among others.
