The government is plotting a new development trajectory for Mashonaland Central Province with a series of investment meetings being lined up from February till March.

A number of meetings are lined up starting with a stakeholders’ consultative gathering in Bindura on 8 February to draw up a provincial investment framework followed by an investment conference in March.

The Minister of State for Provincial Affairs in Mashonaland Central Province, Senator Monica Mavhunga said the consultative meeting aims to bring public and private sectors to deliberate on what they expect from the province and how to drive growth.

“The essence of the consultative meeting is to come up with a profile of the province which will then inform the province investment conference to be held in March. As a province, we have a collective responsibility to put together not only our minds, but also our efforts to ensure that we take advantage of the abundant natural resources our province is endowed with to improve the lives of our people,” she said.

The meetings will explore growth avenues to be created through devolution and strategies to be used for increasing the provincial gross domestic product in line with the vision 2030 of attaining middle income economy status.
