athlets.jpgThe Kujatana Nkubotu peace half marathon set for Binga this September may well be a chance for budding athletes to carve their names in long distance running.

The Kujatana Nkubotu marathon, which in Tonga means ‘unity is good’ is a national race that targets young and aspiring long distances runners to get an avenue to create their own piece of history.

The half marathon aims to bring unity and peace among all Zimbabweans, hence it has turned national this year from the first two editions which focused mainly on the Binga community.

The 2009 winners were Cleopas Mweembe in the men’s category, while Fungai Chinyoka ruled in the ladies section.

The two will be up for stiffer competition as they seek to defend their titles against more seasoned runners in this year’s national race that has already drawn interest from over a hundred runners.

The Kujatana Nkubotu peace half marathon will be staged on the 25th of September 2010.
