Charles Manyuchi has managed to shed the few grams to make the required weight at 72.4 kg for the World Boxing Federation middleweight title over 12 rounds against Argentine Diego Diaz Gallardo at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on Saturday night.

Manyuchi weighed-over 72.9 kgs against the middleweight limit of 72.575 kgs at the weigh-in early today, where he was given two hours to shed off an excess of 200g for him to qualify for his much awaited WBF middleweight bout.

He had to undergo weight-shedding activities under the supervision of his coach and managed to beat his two hour deadline, while his opponent Gallardo who was in-weight was relaxing along with officials from the WBF waiting for the outcome.

Eventually, the fighter weghed-in 72.4 kgs, to the relief of this fans who were fearing cancellation of his match or pronouncement of a non-title bout.

Nine other bouts, including the WBF (light-weight) title fight between Brandon Denes and Malawi’s Byson Gwayani, are line up.
