Small to medium enterprises (SMEs) in Manicaland are set to benefit from an e-commerce platform which is expected to unlock local and international markets.
The e-commerce platform named the Manicaland Business Hub is a response to the call for innovative solutions that attract investments to the province.
The platform is an online marketing tool that presents the economic opportunities in the province and sells it as a preferred investment destination said chairperson of the Manicaland Chamber of SMEs, Mr Moses Mwagura.
“The Manicaland Business Hub hosts the Invest Manicaland site, SMEs hub and the Chamber of SMEs sites. We want to guarantee that the SMEs widen their net and given that we are in a global village this is critical, he said.
Manicaland Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa hailed the move saying that it will attract much needed capital to the province and expand the market opportunities for local businesses.
“As a province we have realised that the SMEs have a lot to contribute in terms of the turnaround efforts. As such we hail the coming into being of the Manicaland Business Hub which will see their products being marketed far and wide,” she said.
Manicaland Province has also been singing from the same hymn book as President Emmerson Mnangagwa on investment.
It was the first province to host an investment opportunities conference whose results are already being felt as investors are partnering local business people in the various economic activities such as mining and agriculture among many.
