Manyame Rural District Council (RDC) has embarked on a project to develop Guzha Business Centre popularly known as Chikwanha into a modern urban facility to improve service delivery.
In an effort to ensure Chikwanha Business Centre conforms to new modern standards of service centres, Manyame RDC has started the modernisation of the area in an exercise set to cost more than US$500 000.
Manyame RDC Engineer Benjamin Bara says the centre is the business hub of the district hence the need to modernise it.
The programme will start with the tarring and rehabilitation of the road at the centre where they have partnered ZINARA followed by infrastructural development and waste management.
The centre has more than 400 business units of various commercial activities which include the council run vegetable market which service farmers from Seke, Beatrice, Macheke, Wedza and Chihota.
Although some people believe Chikwanha is part of Chitungwiza it falls under ward 1 of Manyame RDC.
