Stephen Muzhingi’s preparations for the Two Oceans and Comrades Marathons received a major boost when a local seed manufacturer donated an assortment of training kit for the long distance athlete and his training partners.
The donation of the training kit valued at approximately US$10 000 underlines the donor’s social investment initiative.
The seed manufacturer has also assumed responsibility for Muzhingi’s accommodation, food and fuel requirements for the entire year as he gears up for the Two Oceans and Comrades Marathons.
The guest of honour, Seed-Co group chief executive officer, Morgan Nzwere said they were impressed by Muzhingi’s outstanding performances on the international arena, hence their decision to assist.
Muzhingi, who was attested into the Airforce of Zimbabwe last year said he’s indebted to the seed manufacturer for covering some of the financial burden ahead of forthcoming international marathons.
Air Commodore John Jacob Nzvede, who was representing the Commander of the Air Force of Zimbabwe, Air Marshal Perence Shiri, expressed gratitude to the seed manufacturer for its generous gesture.
Stephen Muzhingi’s quest for glory on the international stage this year will commence in April when he participates in the Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town before setting his sights on a fourth successive Comrades Marathon title on the 3rd of June.
