Top Zimbabwean Women’s Soccer League side, Black Rhinos Queens has received a kit boost from a local insurance company.

Black Rhinos women’s side is one of the most successful teams in the Zimbabwe Women’s Soccer League and provide the biggest number of players to the national women’s side.

Club Secretary General Panganai Mahachi said the club are the defending champions and current leaders, holders of the lM Auctioneers Trophy, the Marange Diamonds Cup among other accolades.

“We have two teams, the seniors who compete in the women’s soccer league and a developmental side competing in the Northern Region Division One which we use to identify and nurture talented youngsters from grassroots and underprivileged communities.

Sponsors Safel Insurance’s Marketing Manager, Tanaka Maradzi, said the donation is part of their continued partnership with the Zimbabwe National Army side.

“We believe in your capabilities as winners and want to be associated with winners. It’s part of our corporate social responsibility programme where we give back to the communities in which we do business in,” said Maradzi.

Guest of honour Lieutenant Colonel Isaiah Chitungo thanked the insurance company for the thoughtful and sensible consideration of the girl child.

“May the sponsorship continue and impact, promote the development of the girl child in sport and ensure gender balance in all spheres of life including sport,” he said.

Safel Insurance has ties dating back to a few years with the ZNA and has donated playing kits in the past and provides short-term insurance, agriculture, motor-vehicle and legal aid for both civil and criminal matters.
