Top South African Afro-Pop outfit Mafikizolo is in the country for the 2019 Makomo Gala in Hwange this

Friday evening.

The singing duo rated as one of the best music groups on the continent arrived at the Victoria Falls International Airport this Friday afternoon ahead of their performance at Makomo Gala.

The Mzansi Afro-pop outfit will share the stage with local artists who include Alick Macheso, Peter Moyo, Killer T and Selmor Mutukudzi at Hwange Colliery stadium.

In an interview upon their arrival, the duo described Zimbabwe as their second home and assured their fans an unforgettable performance.

“We are in a great mood and very excited to be here. This is the first time we are performing in this part of the country and we look forward to a great show,” said Mfikizolo.

The award-winning group which has never performed in Matebeleland North also expressed their desire to perform at the Victoria Falls Carnival in the future.

“We would like to come to Victoria Falls. Any promoter out there, please bring us on the 31st so that we enjoy what this destination has on offer. We have heard amazing things about the annual cross over,” the duo added.

The South African group confirmed that they are currently working on a single to be released before the end of the year and assured their local fans that they will be back again for the ‘Home Coming,’ show which was initially scheduled for September but postponed to November.

Show promoter, Eusabia Rayire expressed confidence that the gala will be a success highlighting that they are proud to be associated with the award-winning Afro-pop outfit.

The Makomo Gala is part of the activities lined up to mark the 9th Anniversary of the coal mining firm Makomo Resources.
