Johane Masowe yeChishanu founder, Madzibaba Godfrey Nzira has died.
He was 58.
Family spokesperson, Madzibaba Simbiso Mhike said Madzibaba Nzira died this Sunday evening after a long battle with hypertension and a heart ailment.
Madzibaba Mhike described Madzibaba Nzira as a man of the people, adding that the works he did will always be remembered in the spiritual legacy of Zimbabwe.
Madzibaba Nzira began his ministry in 1977 and established branches across the country.
He is survived by three wives, seven children and two grandchildren.
Mourners are gathered at the Johane Masowe weChishanu Chitungzwiza shrine.
Meanwhile, the Zanu PF National Political Commissar, who is also the Minister of Media, Information and Publicity, Cde Webster Shamu has sent a condolence message to the Nzira family following the passing on of Madzibaba Nzira.
Cde Shamu said the passing on of Madzibaba Nzira is not only a loss to the Johane Masowe weChishanu Apastolic Church, but also to the entire nation.
The Minister described Madzibaba Nzira as a hardworking, focused, principled and highly organised leader, who initiated various income generating projects such as poultry production, panel beating, carpentry and gardening, among others.
