Residents of the Chizhanje area in Harare’s Mabvuku suburb, who have for the past nine months been living in the dark, have been reconnected to power following the intervention of Zanu PF candidates in the forthcoming harmonised elections.

The Zanu PF local authority and national assembly candidates joined hands and facilitated the reconnection of electricity in parts of Mabvuku.

Beneficiaries thanked the initiative, saying they will vote for Zanu PF come July 30.

“We want to thank our aspiring candidates for ward 21 and 19 for bring back electricity. For the past nine months, MDC councillors who been in power for the past 10 years have failed to assist us,  now that our own sons from Zanu PF have come to our rescue, we will make sure we vote them into office come 30 july,” said one resident.

The coming in of Zanu PF candidates in the race for local authorities ward 21; Pedzai Sakupwanya, Tawanda Chidzidzi ward 19 and aspiring National Assembly member, Godwills  Masimirembwa has brought relief to residents as they managed facilitate the  reconnection  power.

So far the candidates have facilitated the replacement of two transformers by ZESA and bought armored cables which have already been installed as part of Zanu PF manifesto to improve service delivery and rehabilitate infrastructure which has been run down.
