Cattle farmers in Beitbridge district have raised a red flag citing the looming drought as a potential threat to livestock in the area.
Beitbridge district has a herd of over 95 000 cattle although the area has however not been favoured with enough pastures.
The potential drought threat has further complicated matters as farmers lament that grazing lands have depleted terribly.
While the success of any livestock ventures is dependent on rain, the dry 2018/19 season has got farmers very worried.
Beitbridge East legislator and cattle farmer Hon. Albert Nguluvhe says stock feeds are way out of reach for many.
Cde Nguluvhe says this might further deplete the herd if no favourable scheme is arranged on time.
