Local authorities were honoured last night at the Local government Investment Conference (LOGIC) awards held in the capital.
Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Minister Cde Saviour Kasukuwere officiated at the awards ceremony.
Small cities and towns ruled the roost at the awards ceremony which saw Harare city failing to get a single award.
The Water Supply and Waste Water Management award went to Hwange Local Board, while Bulawayo City Council scooped two awards – the Solid Waste Management award and the Development Control award.
Chinhoyi Municipality was named the best local authority in the Roads and Traffic Management category, with Marondera Municipality winning the Community Services, Social Amenities and Public Lighting award.
Rusape Town Council was honoured as the best local authority in terms of Financial Management and Corporate Governance.
The Best Exhibition Award went to Mvurwi Town Council.
The 2nd Local Government Investment Conference which started on Tuesday brought together local authorities in the country with focus on investment promotion, infrastructure development and service delivery.
The conference ends today.
