Benjamin Lock progressed to the semi-finals of the Mozambique Futures following a straight sets win over William Buyshamuka of the United States.
Lock was flawless in the first set, taking 43 minutes to dispatch his opponent 6-0.
The second set was, however, a much tougher affair with Lock taking a 4-2 lead but his United States opponent Buyshamuka exhibited a never say die attitude by bouncing back and levelling the match at 4-all.
Zimbabwe’s Davis Cup player, however, showed superiority by winning the second set 7-5 and claiming the match 6-0, 7-5 to progress to the semi’s of the futures tourney in Mozambique.
There was no such joy for Courtney Lock who crashed out in the last 32.
In the doubles Benjamin and Courtney cruised into the final after a 6-1, 6-2 straight sets victory over the Russian Ireland pairing of Yan Bonderviskiy and Simon Carr.
