In an effort to have a clean environment a local church has partnered with   Harare City Council and Warren Park 1 community to remove garbage at illegal dumping sites at the shopping centre and the surrounding area.

For many years the Harare City Council has been failing to collect garbage in most suburbs as witnessed by illegal dump sites and thanks to a local church which provided waste collection equipment in Warren Park 1 to remove litter.

Founder of Grace Faith Ministries Bishop Charles Madondo and the clean-up coordinator Primrose Miga said the programme is meant to support government’s call for people to clean their surroundings to avoid disease outbreaks.

Local councillor for the area Tichaona Mhetu appealed to the corporate world for assistance.

“Our duty as councillors is to make sure that refuse is collected but we have challenges with cabbage collection equipment,” he said.

Last year government launched the National Clean-up strategy to make it a culture for people to clean their environment.
