A satirical comedy, “Lobolaâ€, which features Zimbabwe’s Diamond Boy, Munyaradzi Chidzonga as the main actor, has been launched in Harare.
ÂThe film portrays the life of three Zimbabwean brothers who come back home after spending fourteen years in the United States.
The intriguing comedy, “Lobolaâ€, brings out the African and Western cultural clashes depicted in characters such as Munyaradzi
Chidzonga as Sean Ray, who is heir to the Muza family’s foreign-based granite import company.
The drama unfolds when Sean decides to marry Christine Moyana (acted by Dalma Chiwereva) after a brief courtship which goes under scrutiny and criticism from the Moyana family, especially on the day of marriage.
Director and script writer of the comedy, Joe Njagu, says the comedy seeks to give lessons to societies on the importance of
treasuring their traditions in a comic way.
The cast features other actors such as Joe Pike, Edmore Sandifolo, Charity Dhlodhlo, Anthony Tongani, Tendai Hakuna, Sean Ray and ZBC’s Good Morning Zimbabwe presenter, Alice Makaya.
Producers include Rufaro Kaseke, Joe Njagu, Nyaradzo Muchena and Munyaradzi Chidzonga.
