1542: The President says the church should be the leading light of the world.

1541: He says the churches should continue to preach the gospel of peace as he quotes Psalms 133 which reads; “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell in unity! 2 It is like the fine oil upon the head that ran down upon the beard, upon Aaron’s beard, that ran down upon the hem of his garments. 3 Like the dew of Hermon that came down upon the mountains of Zion. For there Jehovah commanded the blessing: Life forever”.

1537: The President says there’s need for love between one another.

1535: He says for the country to go forward it needs people to be united and work together in peace for the development of Zimbabwe. He reiterated that the churches should enjoy the freedom of worship adding that the citizenry should observe peace always. 

1534: “Handisati ndamboona vanhu vakawanda kudai vanongouya voga vasina anotyaira…. Iri harisi simba revanhu asi isimba raMwari. Isu patinoita misangano yedu yeZanu PF tinofamba mumisha tichishevedzera nezvemusangano …zvose izvi zvinoora asi izvi zviri pano hazviwore,” he says.

1529: The President says the church has been given land to farm as well as the inputs. He says the issue of water was looked into and the roads will be constructed in the Marange area so that people will have easy access to reach this shrine. 

1528: My government will continue to support the church’s agricultural projects as discussed earlier when I met the church’s leader Mutumwa Noah Taguta, a move aimed at ensuring families are food self sufficient.

1527: He says God will bless his people where there is peace and unity.

1450: The President has been given the Star of David from Mutumwa St Noah Taguta.

1441: An Angolan disciple who attended the Passover pays tribute to the President for respecting the word of God and attending the feast urging him to pass on the message that in Mafararikwa there’s a man of God who prays for peace in the world.

1433: The church elders say that former President Robert Mugabe allowed himself to be dominated by a woman hence his departure from office urging President Mnangagwa never to allow a woman to dominate his authority.

1427: Church elders assure the President that victory is guaranteed and that his ascendency into the high office was given from above.

1401: In a show of great humility and subservient manner clad in white, President Mnangagwa took his seat next to the leaders on the bare ground and the church’s leader Mutumwa Noah Taguta is now leading and conducting in the singing.

1153: Every July thousands gather here for their Passover which stretches from the 1st to the 17th.

1152: President Emmerson Mnangagwa is today attending the Johane Marange Apostolic Church Passover in Mafararikwa, Bocha, Manicaland Province. The Johane Marange Apostolic Church is led by Mutumwa Noah Taguta.

  • Although most Christians celebrate their Easter and Passover in April, for the Johane Marange Apostolic Church it is celebrated every 17th of July marking the day on which their leader Johane Marange is said to have been anointed to start leading the church.
  • The vision of his leadership role is said to have been revealed in 1917 when he was only 5 years old.
  • Johane Marange started his mission of preaching and deliverance in 1932.
  • The gathering here brings together followers of the church from the SADC region and across the globe.
  • Around 500 000 followers are gathered here for the Passover feast.
