The late Cde Emma Sande Mushaikwa who died on the 16th this month in Harare and was accorded provincial liberation hero status has been buried.
Several speakers at the burial described Cde Mushaikwa as a Zanu PF dedicated cadre who remained committed to further national interests before and after independence.
The deputy director in the office of the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Harare Metropolitan, Mr Ignatius Mungure who represented Minister Miriam Chikukwa described the late Cde Mushaikwa as a liberation war hero who exhibited leadership qualities whenever given a national duty to execute.
Harare Province war veterans member Cde Obert Nyuke said the death of Cde Mushaikwa is a loss to the War Veterans Association and to the nation as a whole.
Family spokesperson Bornshake Sande said the family has lost a leader and a unifier.
Cde Mushaikwa joined the liberation struggle towards the end of 1975 through Mukumbura boarder where she got her first training before proceeding to Maroro base just after Tembwe attack.
Cde Mushaikwa is survived by a husband and five children.
