The late provincial liberation war hero Cde Abraham Chamangani who died on the 14th of this month has been laid to rest a t the Manicaland Provincial Heroes Acre with full military honours.
The burial of Cde Chamangani at the Manicaland Provincial Heroes Acres brings to 266 heroes and heroines interred at the shrine.
Friends, relatives and government officials came to give the late provincial liberation war hero a befitting send off.
Family representative Mr Standford Mun’on’o said the family had lost a family pillar and a hero who was instrumental in building not only his family but the nation at large.
The guest of honour deputy director in the Minister of State’s office Cde Lucky Basopo saluted the supreme sacrifice paid by gallant sons and daughters in dislodging the oppressive colonial regime.
Zanu PF Manicaland Provincial Secretary for Legal Affairs Cde Misheck Mugadza said freedom fighters were departing at an alarming rate, with the war veterans representative Cde Leopold Njobo calling upon the younger generation to safeguard the gains of independence which came through the barrel of the gun.
Cde Chamangani passed on, on the 14th of this month.
