With just about a week to go before Zimbabweans take to the polls, the electorate in Masvingo North constituency has been urged to vote for the Zanu PF party if they want any meaningful development.

As the clock ticks, with a few days before elections, aspiring legislators in Masvingo have intensified their campaigns in the final stretch.

Zanu PF aspiring legislator for Masvingo North constituency, Davis Marapira held a rally in ward 8 to drum up support.

Retired Colonel Resten Magumise, a Director in the Zanu PF Commissariat, assured the electorate in ward 8 that if they vote for Zanu PF they will not be disappointed as it has a tried and tested leader in President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

He emphasized that the party is now prioritising the will of the people.

“The gains of liberation can never be sold, you should know that Mbuya Nehanda said the dry bones will rise. Zanu PF wants to do the will of the people. The party knows it is the servant of the people, it’s about servant leadership. President Emmerson Mnangagwa is a tried and tested leader,” Retired Colonel Magumise said.

Mr Marapira told the party supporters that since the new dispensation, Zanu PF is now all about development saying 75 percent efforts are about improving livelihoods of Zimbabweans with just 25 percent reserved for politics,” he said.

“The days of preaching politics without development are over. President Mnangagwa always speaks about 75 percent development. We are not going back on the issue of development, as you can see we have given you inputs because we want to improve your livelihoods through ensuring that you are food self-sufficient,” he said.

The Zanu PF provincial leadership in Masvingo has often said it is working to retain all the 26 constituencies in the province come July 30.
