Today marks the 22nd death anniversary of the iconic legendary musician Leonard Dembo affectionately known as Musoro Wenyoka who died on the 9th of April in 1996.

The late talented vocalist, songwriter and guitarist was one of the country’s most outstanding musicians whose compositions stood the taste of time.

Son to the iconic musician Tendai Dembo celebrated the legacy of his father saying he contributed immensely in the music industry during his time.

Tendai said this year, his father was honoured for his contribution to the growth of the local music industry at a Masvingo music awards ceremony on the 7th of this month.

A number of shows in and around Masvingo to commemorate the life of the late music legendary have been lined-up.

Morgan and Tendai are currently leading the Barura express band.

The talented guitarists and vocalists are capable of continuing with their father’s legacy through some of their compositions.

Dembo is known for his hit songs which include Chitekete, Shiri Yakanaka, Venenzia and Sharai among others.

Today, the songs are still an inspiration to many including his fans and other upcoming musicians.
