Some of Zimbabwe’s top legal practitioners who attended the official opening of the High Court have described the Deputy Chief Justice Luke Malaba’s speech as sincere and pledged to work hard for the benefit of the country’s justice delivery system.
A legal practitioner, Mr Terrence Hussein, who described the Deputy Chief Justice’s speech as sincere and impartial, encouraged both the legal practitioners and judges to work hard to improve Zimbabwe’s justice delivery system.
These sentiments were also shared by two other legal practitioners; Mrs Nyaradzo Munangati Manongwa and Mr Innocent Musimbe who pledged to work harder.
Another lawyer, Mr Jonathan Samukange however said there is need to improve conditions of service for judges if the country is to yield desired results in justice delivery.
The official opening of the High Court is done every year to review the previous year with a view to solve some of the challenges faced.
The annual event is attended by judges, senior government officials and legal practitioners, among other stakeholders in the justice delivery system.
