The Chinese Premier Mr Li Keqiang has expressed gratitude to President Emmerson Mnangagwa for prioritising China as one of the first countries he has visited after assuming the Presidency.
The Chinese Premier was speaking in a meeting with President Mnangagwa when he met him in Beijing this Wednesday afternoon.
Cde Mnangagwa stressed that the two countries are taking their bilateral ties to a higher level of all encompassing strategic partnership from that of all weather friends.
The President thanked the Asian country for its continued support to Zimbabwe.
President Mnangagwa was accompanied by his delegation of cabinet ministers Cdes Patrick Chinamasa, Prisca Mupfumira, Sibusiso Moyo, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, Dr Joram Gumbo, Dr Mike Bimha, Supa Mandiwanzira and Special Advisor to the President Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa.
Cde Mnangagwa also met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Mr Li Zhanshu who expressed his gratitude for the honour of the visit.
Cde Mnangagwa thanked Mr Zhanshu for the assistance China gave to the Zimbabwean parliament.
Earlier on, the President laid a wreath at the Monument of the People’s Heroes at Tianamen Square.
