sculpture 08-09-10.jpgA Harare female artist has defied odds by venturing into visual art where she is producing some captivating art works.

Famed for its key requirement, the need to possess the muscle to chisel and hammer and the dust that accompanies it, female visual artist Ruth Nyandoro, who now boasts of two years experience in the sculpting industry, has managed to beat social expectations by coming up with eye-catching artifacts that depict varying themes and meanings.

Of interest is one of her artifacts depicting a tortoise climbing a tree which she says carries a deep meaning.

It is a profession where only a handful of women have dared venture but the Greendale-based female sculptor says she is happy with the returns her job is providing which has made her a family breadwinner.
