The Zimbabwe women’s cricket team face Nigeria tomorrow (Saturday) having already sealed a berth in the regional qualifiers final where they are set to meet Namibia on Sunday.

The Lady Chevrons have been ruthless in their victories over Mozambique, Tanzania and Rwanda, setting up what promises to be an intense final against Namibia at Harare sports club on Sunday.

Before that clash, Zimbabwe face Nigeria in a game that will be vital in giving the team confidence heading into the final against Namibia, and the Lady Chevrons head coach, Adam Chifo will be hoping for a fourth victory in a row.

Sharne Meyers has been the shining light for Zimbabwe, having surpassed the 60-run mark on the two occasions she was handed with the player of the match accolade.

Modester Mupachikwa also joined in the party on Thursday after top scoring with 62 runs while Tasmeen Granger registered impressive figures of 3 for 11.

Josephine Nkomo has also been impressive with the ball together with Audrey Mazvishaya.

Given the arsenal Zimbabwe’s women’s side possesses, the Lady Chevrons will be hopeful of overcoming Nigeria on Saturday and Namibia in Sunday’s final so as to ensure a clean sweep ahead of the global qualifiers to be hosted by Scotland later this year.
