Kushinga Phikelela farmer training college says it has been forced to scale down its farming operations because of lack of resources.

College principal Mr Basili Nleya told graduands and stakeholders that there is need to revise the centralised financial management system in the government as institutions should be given some of their funds to plough back into the system to sustain themselves.

Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development director in the department of agricultural education and farmer training, Mr Moffat Nyamangara said the country requires competent personnel to drive the agricultural industry.

The graduation ceremony held under the theme, “Sustainable Enhancement of Human Capital Development for Food and Nutrition Security” saw 36 students graduating with a diploma in commercial farming while one had a certificate in commercial farming.
