simon khaya moy.jpgProspects for strengthening economic partnership between Zimbabwe and Russia are looking good.



This was said by Zanu-PF National Chairman and Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to South Africa Cde Simon Khaya Moyo and the head of the visiting Russian delegation Dr Vladimir Shubin when they held talks at the Zanu-PF Headquarters in Harare.
Mr Shubin who is also the Deputy Director of the Institute of African Studies at Moscow University is leading a delegation to explore cooperation and partnership’s opportunities in the Zimbabwe.

He said at present Russian investors have identified the mining sector as one of the possible areas of cooperation in the economic sphere.
Cde Simon Khaya Moyo hailed the Russians for their continued support and solidarity with Zimbabwe which started in the independence of Southern Africa.


Russia together with China, recently came to the defence of Zimbabwe by blocking attempts by the West to impose international sanctions against Zimbabwe.
Cde Moyo revealed that members of Zanu-PF and the United Russia party will soon meet and exchange views in Moscow.      


Another member of the Russian delegation Elena Kharitonova of the Russian Academy of Sciences Institute for African Studies also stressed the need to strengthen cooperation in the cultural sphere.
