Chiredzi district this Friday took part in the National Cleanup Campaign Programme amid calls for communities to keep their environments clean for better livelihoods.

Maintaining cleanliness in everyone’s daily life remains an essential act for good health and happiness, however this is not always the case mainly with travellers and vendors.

The issue of throwing litter through windows or under the seats, pampers and sanitary wear everywhere around marketplaces has been rife, hence the need for behavioural change.

Chiredzi district this month took the clean-up campaign to market places and bus terminus.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa declared the first Friday of every month as a National Clean-up Day aimed at promoting a clean environment.
