Family, friends and the football fraternity converged at Glen Forest Cemetery to pay their last respects to former Warriors midfielder Edzai Kasinauyo who was laid to rest this afternoon.
The Glen Forest Cemetery was almost turned to a national team camp as former and current Warriors greats among them Peter Ndlovu, Engelbert Dinha, George Mbwando, Robson Chisango, Lloyd Chitembwe, Harrington Shereni, Benjani Mwaruwaru, Willard Katsande, Khama Billiat, Edward Sadomba and other yesteryear giants like David Mandigora joined relatives, friends and family to said their final goodbyes to Edzai Kasinauyo.
‘Football is poorer without you Edzai’ was the chorus that resonated from those who knew the soft spoken former Warriors midfielder.
The testimonies brought out the warm nature of Kasinauyo whose love saw him teaming up with his close friend George Mbwando in providing for orphans in Hwange through a project known as Football Against HIV/AIDS.
Gone too soon yes, but the celebration of Kasinauyo’s life brought out the other side of the men usually known for their skillful footwork in football to temporarily trade it away as they said farewell in their own special way.
