All is set for karate grading exercise and the Arosume Property Development Kyokushin Union Merit Awards, which will see karatekas who excelled in 2011 being honoured in 10 different categories this Friday.
The Kyokushin Union Karate Merit Awards will be preceded by a grading exercise which will be overseen by renowned 7th dan black belt instructor, Shihan Bas whoâ€™s expected in the country this Thursday.
After the grading exercise, Kyokushion Union karatekas will then converge for the merit awards.
Vice Chairman of the Kyokushin Union of Zimbabwe, Phillip Chisango said the adjudication committee has come up with 10 categories in which karatekas will vie for honours.
Karate benefactor, Arosume Property Development chief executive officer, Dr Manson Mnaba who is an accomplished first dan black belt said sponsoring the event is a way to reward excelling sportspeople as well as giving back to the community.
Some of the karatekas who are expected to be frontrunners in the race for accolades at the Arosume Properties Kyokushin Union Merit Awards slated for this Friday, include Samson Muripo, Lovemore Nyamutswa, Malvern Muyambo and George Mutambu, Kelly Mutisi and Austin Mucheni among others, while on the juniors front, names such as Tinashe Matika, Sly Karidzamimba, Marshall Siyamatamba, Simba Mufema and Gamuchirai Mandisodza are expected to be in the thick of things.
