karate tourney2110.jpgThe Zimbabwe Karate team to represent the nation at the All Africa Games in Mozambique later this year continued with its preparations for the sporting extravaganza with a commendable showing that sealed 10 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze medals in a showdown with Zambia yesterday.

The medals were secured in 10 categories in both the katas and kumite against Zambia.
Zimbabwe coach, Shihan Paul Danisa was praised the team’s performance, saying they had an impressive show against Zambia.

The team showed great signs of improvement from their showdown with Botswana late last year and this has definitely boosted the team’s confidence ahead of the All Africa Games,” he said.

Although Zambia is not a karate force like Botswana, who are the best team in the region, Shihan Danisa nevertheless said the showdown against  the Zambians was critical in assessing the teams’ strengths and weaknesses as the countdown to the All Africa Games continues.
