Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has arrived ahead of the official opening of the 60th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo to be officially opened this Friday (tomorrow).
The guest of honour at this year’s ZITF, President Museveni of Uganda was received at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, senior government officials and service chiefs.
On arrival, President Museveni was honoured with a 21 gun salute before he inspected a guard of honour.
A shade of Zimbabwean hospitality was also on show as the Ugandan president was treated to some traditional dance and song before leaving for a state banquet to be hosted for him by President Mnangagwa this evening.
The 60th edition of the ZITF comes amid growing global interests among the international community to invest in Zimbabwe while exhibitor space at the ZITF grounds was sold out.
President Museveni comes to officiate at the exhibition on the back of a milestone achievement by his country in its bid to resuscitate its national carrier, acquiring two aircrafts for Ugandan Airlines which were delivered Tuesday morning.
This year’s trade fair is running under the theme: “Propagating Industrial Growth through Trade and Investment”.
