The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has commended the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) for moving in sync with other sectors of Zimbabwean society in the area of career development for its manpower.
The President said this while addressing graduands and guests at the Zimbabwe Staff College today.
President Mnangagwa hailed the ZDF for fostering and cementing relations in the sub-region through the inclusion of students from SADC member states in its enrolment.
“The introduction of the socio-cultural interaction studies in the course will help revive national pride, identity and preservation of African culture and heritage,” said President Mnangagwa.
He commended the People’s Republic of China for seconding a team to the Zimbabwe Staff College as well as local universities for valuable partnerships.
Students, who excelled were honoured with Major Petros Nkata emerging as the overall best student.
The course began in January this year with the students drawn from eight SADC countries, the ZDF, Zimbabwe Republic Police, Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services and the President’s Department.
