The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement has summoned former Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development Minister, Dr Joseph Made to explain his unilateral appointment of GMB General Manager, Mr Rocky Mutenha and the irregular appointment of GMB board chairman and deputy chairman to serve as senior executive managers at GMB for 18 months.

The appointment of Mr Mutenha ahead of Dr Millicent Mombeshora and Mr David Machingaidze who had the highest scores during the interviews came under the spotlight during a Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement hearing.

Then came the unusual revelation of mal-administration necessitated by the manner in which former Minister Made appointed his relative, Mr Basilio Sandamu and the chairperson of the board, Mr Charles Chikaura to act as senior executive managers for 18 months.

The Parliament has since summoned Dr Made, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement Mr Rings Chitsiko, Dr Gift Machengete, GMB Board Chairperson Mr Charles Chimaera and Mr Sandamu to appear for a hearing on the 27th of March.
