childparly.jpgNewly-elected Junior Parliamentarians have promised to use their current term of office to fight for the rights of underprivileged children, especially those living on the streets.

The juniors say they are going to challenge government on the need to increase support to underprivileged children and influence policies which will solve the problems of children living on the streets.

A junior parliamentarian representing street children, Felix Magumo encouraged society to desist stereotyping children living on the streets since they also desire to lead better lives.

”In the street there a mothers and fathers who also need shelter to live in and as children we also need education,” said Magumo.

The junior parliamentarians say their task this year is to help their colleagues to be empowered through obtaining decent education so that they become self reliant.

The 19th sitting of the junior parliamentarians will be officially opened this Saturday.
