The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is earmarking establishing a High Court in every province as part of bringing justice to the people.

This comes as the country has opened two high courts within a short space of time, bringing the number of high courts to four.

The opening of the country’s fourth High Court in Mutare has set the tone for the country’s judicial system.

Chief Justice Luke Malaba said the JSC in partnership with the government is looking forward to establishing more courts in line with their vision of attaining a world class standard justice.

Top of the priority for the establishment of the courts are Midlands, Matabeleland North and Matabeleland South provinces.

Prior to the establishment of the High Court in Masvingo and Mutare, these areas were being served by circuit courts and the coming of these new courts is expected to save money and improve on access to justice.
