Vice President Joice Mujuru says people should not belittle sacrifices made by freedom fighters who died during the liberation struggle.
Cde Mujuru said this at a memorial service for the late national hero and Deputy Director General in the Presidentâ€™s office, Cde Menard Negidi Muzariri held at his rural home, Chesa, Mount Darwin yesterday.
She said the late Cde Muzariri was a committed cadre who served his country diligently.
Zanu-PF National Chairperson, Cde Simon Khaya Moyo described Cde Muzariri as a unifier, nation builder and intelligence supremo, whose works will always be cherished.
The Minister, of State Security, Cde Sydney Sekeramayi, commended Cde Muzaririâ€™s principled leadership qualities especially when dealing with issues to do with the protection of national interests, sentiments echoed by Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, General Constantine Chiwenga.
Also present at the memorial service were cabinet ministers, Dr Joseph Made, Dr Ignatius Chombo, Cde Nicholas Goche and Cde Savior Kasukuwere as well as Zanu-PF politburo members, Cde Tendai Savanhu and Cde Lazarus Dokora.
Cde Muzariri died on the 11th of last month and was buried at the National Heroes Acre in Harare.
