Jesse Watson won the one hour Enduro race, beating 24 other vehicles at Donnybrook Raceway this Sunday (yesterday).

Toyota Supra 600 horse power driven by Jesse Watson crossed the finishing line first in the one hour Enduro race at Donnybrook Raceway this Sunday, shrugging off competition from Hamish Perry’s BMW and Rowan Whyte’s Subaru.

Watson who started off the race with a high pace stretching the gap at the frontline to about 50 metres maintained his speed and endurance until the last gasp even though Phiri came closer to overtake him in the last 10 minutes of the one hour race.

Watson could not hide his joy after the win and attributed his victory to teamwork.

“I am happy that I have won the race, it was a tough one because at one point I thought Phiri had overtaken me but I held on until the last minute. However, I give thanks to my teammate for letting me ride the car alone all the way, he wasn’t selfish to let me finish the race,” he said.

Meanwhile, Warren Thorne won the superbikes 30 minutes Enduro race over 26 laps for the front runners with Matthew Schultz coming second while Doug Mellor was third.

In the 2500 CC superbike Enduro, Luca Cocconi, Ricky Whyte and Shaun Whyte finished in that order.
