Top Zimbabwean judokas will this weekend compete in the Japanese Ambassador Cup at Hartman House on Sunday.
The Judo Association of Zimbabwe is expecting top competition at the event being bankrolled by the Japanese Embassy.
The association president Jeans also expressed satisfaction with the growth of the sport but pointed out difficulties in securing resources needed to spread the sport of judo.
The purpose of the ambassador cup is to showcase both the martial art and sport of judo to the public and to bring Zimbabwe’s best fighters together in the spirit of sportsmanship.
Fighters competed in the first national ranking competition last Sunday 11th February and from these results national coaches selected the top ranking fighters representing senior judo clubs.
