Moto-X hotshot Jaden Ashwell returned to the local track at the Donnybrook Park with a bang to scoop the top spot in the MX1 motocross second national held on Sunday.

There was lot of excitement, thrills and spills as the big boys threw everything into the race and tried to find an extra yard of gas.

Top riders battled for honours in the elite MX1 class where Ashwell returned after a long spell out to claim the honours ahead of Ashley Thixton, Warren Thorne and Josh Gobey.

Chairman of the Bogwheelers Club, Gary Grainger said it was a credit to the track when there are no injuries adding that he was impressed with the turnout and new riders despite the fact that the meeting clashed with some school sports.

In the MX2 class Tafadzwa Mawarire was third, Gobey second and Shane Thomas first, in the seniors class Leanne Young was third, Bond Southers second and Brandon Edmond first while in the 125CC class Mudiwa Chigumba was third, Tristan Grainger second and Thixton first.

In the 85CC class top junior female Tanya Muzinda fresh from her UK tour finished fourth racing against the boys, Manu Bako third, Daiyaan Manuel second and Tristan Grainger first.

In the 65cc A class young Brian Manuel, claimed the honours in all the three heats, followed by Manuel Bako and Lee Chigumba and in the 55cc B class Hunter Moore was first, Blake Prinsloo second and Tristan Vohnn third.

Young 9 year female Tadiwanshe Nyamupfukudza, a grade four student at Admiral Tait School in only her second race in the 65cc finished a credible fourth despite having problems with her bike and ended up on an unfamiliar borrowed bike.

In the 20 cc A class Declan Barret clinched top honours, Luke Saven second and Josh Haulkier third while in the pee wee class Willen Grouse and Fabio Kelly scooped the honours.
