ZIFA President, Phillip Chiyangwa has dismissed reports that he has been summoned by CAF for a disciplinary hearing, rather saying he is going to Egypt on ZIFA business at the invitation of the hosts who are taking care of his travel and accommodation costs.
Chiyangwa told the ZBC News prior to his departure for Cairo that he was travelling on ZIFA business at the invitation of Egypt who are bidding for a FIFA Council post.
“It is false, I am not going to Cairo for a disciplinary,” said Chiyangwa, who leading a campaign for Ahmed Ahmed to win the CAF presidency from Cameroon`s Issa Hayatou who has been at the helm for over three decades.
Chiyangwa added that he had suspended journalist and Harare City FC official, Hope Chizuzu from all football business following ‘his disruptive news and fanning hate speech on behalf of agents of doom.’
A buoyant Chiyangwa said after the 16 March CAF elections, he will be talking of a new chapter in the history of african football.
