Italy has promised to continue working together with Zimbabwe in areas of corporation and development following the construction of the Tokwe-Mukosi dam by an Italian company.
Italian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Anrico Agostini hailed the relations between the two countries especially in the areas of co-operation.
Ambassador Agostini was speaking during the celebrations to mark Italy’s national day held in the capital on Friday (yesterday).
He said his country has a lot of expertise and will not hesitate to impart the knowledge to the development of Zimbabwe.
Guest speaker at the event, Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Joey Bimha who was speaking on behalf of the ministry’s Deputy Minister Edgar Mbwembwe expressed gratitude to the works being done by Italian companies in the country with the construction of one of the Africa’s biggest water reservoir Tokwe-Mukosi.
There is great potential for trade between Zimbabwe and Italy as more Italian companies continue to participate at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair and Harare Agriculture Show over the past five years.
Italy National Day is celebrated on the 2nd of June since 1946.
