The Insurance and Pensions Commission (IPEC) has been commended on its efforts to try and advance the financial inclusion agenda for greater economic integration through the use of media.

As purveyors of information, the media should play its part in demystifying myths about insurance and pensions matters through unpacking the technical concepts, objectively informing and educating the public.

These sentiments were revealed by the Principal Director in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development Mr Zvinechimwe Churu on the sidelines of media awards organized by IPEC in an attempt to encourage the media to increase the country’s financial literacy, especially the economic contribution derived from insurance and pensions.

The insurance and pensions sector contributes immensely to socio-economic development, hence the attainment of sustainable development goals.
