Intwasa Arts Festival producers have been urged to come up with programmes that look at collaborations and partnerships with outside artists and nurture the development of cultural heritage in various artistic genres in Zimbabwe.
The just-ended multi-disciplinary arts festival which was held in Bulawayo under the theme “Art without Boundariesâ€, brought various art forms under one platform celebrating the rich and diverse arts activities in Zimbabwe.
Festival analyst, Farai Mupfunya said collaborations should be encouraged by the organisers so as to create sustainable programmes through exchange and cultural collaborations.
Others felt collaborations should not only be with outside artists but should also look at creating synergies with artists from other provinces.
A number of schools also benefited from the collaborations with a celebration of artistic diversity and creativity in the city of Bulawayo.
Besides the collaborations, the major objective of the festival is to celebrate the arts in such a way that there is a cross-fertilisation of ideas and exchange between various arts disciplines.
