Preparations for the Intwasa Arts Festival in Bulawayo are at an advanced stage, with over 14 000 people expected to attend this year’s edition set for 25 to 29 September.
This year’s festival running under the theme, “Realities and Experiences” is being headlined by a Bulawayo writer Sue Nyathi who will be launching her latest piece titled, ‘The Gold Digger’.
Speaking to ZBC News, Intwasa spokeperson Nkululeko Nkala said audiences are set to experience thought provoking performances such as the blood tongue and the hostel.
“In this year’s edition, we have a lot of exciting performances and workshops on cards. There is no turning back actually this year our target is to exceed 14 000 people. People should be on the lookout for comedy night, which will leave their rips cracked,” he said.
Intwasa Arts Festival began in 2005 and is one of the largest festivals in the City of Bulawayo.
