Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr Eddington Mazambani says the recent fuel price increase has been pushed by surging prices on the international market.

He said this when ZERA officials appeared before the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Energy and Power Development in Harare.

Mr Mazambani said the delivery of fuel has been affected by failure by oil companies to procure fuel through the National Oil Infrastructure Company (NOIC) as there is a standoff with Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) over new taxes articulated in the mid-term fiscal policy review statement.
