Over 4000 athletes and officials are expected to participate at this year’s 3rd edition of the Inter-Cities Social Sports Festival set for Bindura at the end of next month.
12 local authorities have confirmed participation in the event that will feature disciplines such as soccer, volleyball, netball, chess, pool darts and tug of war.
Held annually, the games are aimed at improving cooperation and teamwork between employees, management and councilors with a broader view to improve service delivery said the Inter-Cities Social Sports Festival chairperson, Willard Magara.
Addressing the games organising committee meeting, Bindura town clerk, Mr Shangwa Mavesere reaffirmed his municipality committed to ensure the games are a success.
The 2017 Inter-Cities Social Sports Festival will run under the theme, “Unlocking Local Authorities Values through Sport and Recreation”.
